| No 1 has worked hard
for its living and has proved useful in occasional
revenue earning service at the local club track. It
receives little if any maintenance and continues to
provide enjoyment for myself and the boys. I feel it
should receive some updates to enhance the little devil
and hopefully ensure he/she doesn't feel unloved. The
main resone for the cosmetic (?) changes is to take ones
eye off the short comings of the finished engine and
provide an overall effect rather than just a boring
electric engine. The following updates are intended:- Horn:- Yet to be decided but i'll see what comes my way. Sound:- I'm in the process of experimenting with my son's mp3 player playing through a speaker plugged into the headphone socket. I'm also searching the net for a diesel engine sound. The theory is that one wav file loaded on the mp3 player will play continuously. Although it won't rise and fall with the engine speed it should, all being well, provide a suitable effect if playing not to loudly in the background. Smoke:- Yes smoke !....the intention is to get a smoke generator which will be fed through an exhaust pipe mounted somewhere on the bonnet. I haven't done anything about the exhaust pipe until I source the smoke generator. The 2 systems i'm currently looking at are the unit from Hunter Systems which is about £30 and a Seuthe Unit which is about £20. So far i've not found anyone who has used the seuthe system so may give it a try just for the hell of it. |
